Giving Back at Home to Support Care Abroad
At Pine Point Medical, our mission to serve doesn’t stop at the clinic or even abroad. Recently, our team joined International Medical Relief (IMR) in Colorado to help prepare supplies for upcoming global health trips. The experience reminded us that small efforts at home can ripple across the world.
We packed donated items like sunglasses, toothpaste, toothbrushes, basic medications, and toiletries. Each bag we filled will travel with IMR teams and reach patients in underserved communities across the globe. Knowing that our hands helped prepare life-changing supplies gave us a renewed sense of purpose.
Families Making a Difference Together
What made this trip extra special was the chance to bring our families along. Kids, spouses, and even our youngest helpers joined in. Sorting and packing supplies became a way for everyone—medical or not—to take part in service.
For our children, it was a chance to see firsthand the value of helping others. For us, it was a reminder that compassion is contagious. Serving side by side as families made the experience even more meaningful.
Building on Past Experiences Abroad
This wasn’t our first time serving with IMR. In the past, our team traveled abroad to remote villages in the rainforest to provide direct care. We worked together to treat scabies, broken bones, rashes, and infections. We carried supplies like toothbrushes and sunglasses from the U.S. to meet urgent needs. Those experiences abroad showed us the power of teamwork and the impact medical care can have in places where resources are scarce.
The Colorado trip was different, but just as meaningful. Instead of treating patients directly, we supported those who will. It was a reminder that service takes many forms, all of them important.
Looking Ahead: Ecuador 2026
During our time in Colorado, conversations naturally turned to the future. Together, we began planning our next big adventure: a medical mission trip to Ecuador in spring 2026.
The excitement was contagious. Volunteering in the warehouse gave us a glimpse of how preparation fuels impact. Now, we’re looking forward to bringing our skills and compassion directly to communities in need.
Why It Matters
Volunteering with IMR was more than packing boxes. It was a chance to connect, to give back, and to dream about what’s next. Our team continues to show up—together—to serve, learn, and grow.
