Giving Back Through Literacy: Pine Point Medical Donates Over 100 Books to Lansing Loves to Read

Supporting childhood literacy in partnership with Lansing Loves to Read

At Pine Point Medical, we believe caring for our community extends beyond medical visits. This holiday season, our team proudly donated over 100 children’s books to Lansing Loves to Read, a local nonprofit committed to increasing literacy and access to books for children in Lansing, New York.

We selected books for elementary-aged children, ranging from four to twelve years old. Each donation helps place books directly into the hands of children who benefit from early exposure to reading, learning, and imagination.

Supporting Literacy in Our Local Community

Lansing Loves to Read works to improve access to books for children and families throughout the community. By providing age-appropriate reading materials, the organization supports literacy development, academic confidence, and positive learning experiences.

This mission aligns closely with our values at Pine Point Medical. Because we focus on preventive care, long-term wellness, and early intervention. Therefore, supporting childhood literacy allows us to invest in children’s growth beyond physical health and reinforce the foundation for lifelong well-being.

A Personal Connection That Makes It Even More Meaningful

Our connection to Lansing Loves to Read makes this partnership especially meaningful. Several of our patients founded the organization, which introduced us to their important work within the community.

That shared connection strengthens our commitment. And we value supporting initiatives led by individuals who care deeply about Lansing families and take action to create positive change.

Why Literacy Matters for Children’s Health and Development

Reading plays a critical role in childhood development. Books help children strengthen language skills, improve focus, and build emotional awareness. In addition, reading encourages curiosity and supports cognitive growth during key developmental years.

From a healthcare perspective, literacy influences long-term outcomes. For example, children who develop strong reading skills early often perform better academically, communicate more effectively, and build confidence as they grow. Also, families who read together strengthen emotional bonds and support social development.

A Commitment to Community-Centered Care

At Pine Point Medical, we actively seek ways to support the communities we serve. Our team participates in local partnerships, educational efforts, and initiatives that promote health, learning, and connection.

We have supported Lansing Loves to Read in the past, and this year’s book donation allowed us to make a hands-on impact. Providing physical books directly to children creates an immediate benefit that aligns with our commitment to community-centered care.

Looking Ahead

We appreciate organizations like Lansing Loves to Read and the individuals who dedicate their time and energy to supporting children and families. That’s because their work strengthens our community and inspires continued collaboration.

As we move into the new year, Pine Point Medical remains committed to caring for the whole person—and the whole community. We look forward to supporting future initiatives that promote health, education, and opportunity for local families.

Together, small actions can create lasting change.
